Jeary, Dalla Costa advance to Sagicor finals

DANIEL Jeary and Kale Dalla Costa advanced to the finals of the boys 14 and under singles category at the Sagicor Junior Tennis Tournament at the Trinidad Country Club in Maraval, yesterday.

Jeary booked a place in the final with 6-2, 6-3 victory over Alex Chin, while Dalla Costa got past Neil Maraj 6-1, 6-0 in the other semifinal.

In the boys 12 and Under quarterfinals, top seeded Alexander Merry defeated Rizwaan Mohammed 4-1, 4-0 and Kayden Siewrattan outlasted Yohance Solomon 1-4, 5-3, 10-5.

In the girls 12 and under singles semifinals, sisters Abigail and Inara Chin Lee will meet in the finals after recording comfortable victories. Abigail defeated Kate Broughton 4-1, 4-1 and Inara was a 4-1, 4-2 winner over Eva Pasea. Some of the matches started late yesterday because of rain.

The tournament continues today from 9 am.
