Saleem Samuel blends colour and culture in Unity fashion collection

Designer Saleem Samuel says his new Unity collection "is a combination of fashion, colour and culture blended together to reflect a harmonious relationship between all the elements that create an ethereal effect."

Unity is a resort collection with various design pieces like kaftans, high-waisted pencil pants, flare skirts and long tops that can be worn as dresses. The collection is easy to wear and suitcase friendly.

"I was inspired to use vibrant colours to create this collection and shape it into easy-breezy Caribbean wear using materials such as sheer beaded chiffon, tie-dye blended fabric and the bold colours of georgette creating these exquisite designs for women," Samuel said in a media release.

"When it comes to the accessories I used head pieces to give a turban effect, bangles and chains to match.

"For men I used strong patterned jackets that are easy to interchange with long or short trousers and colour-blocking tops.
