Town and Country Planning introduces covid19 measures

In order to continue safeguarding citizens and employees against the covid19 pandemic, the Town and Country Planning Division (TCPD) of the Ministry of Planning and Development on Wednesday said the division will be implementing interim measures.
In a release, the division said the public day at various regional offices would be suspended from March 18, until further notice.
Members of the Public are advised that any direct communication with officers of the TCPD would be scheduled by phone appointments prior to visiting the office. Appointments will be scheduled based on the specific circumstances of the request or inquiry.
Citizens are asked to contact the respective TCPD offices at the phone numbers or through the e-mail addresses listed to schedule appointments or for enquiries about existing matters.
The TCPD said citizens enquires regarding the status of existing applications would be best addressed by e-mail to the TCPD.
The division said from March 23, drop boxes would be strategically placed at each regional office to facilitate the submission of new applications.
However, the TCPD reminded citizens that applications needed to satisfy the guidelines provided by the division.
While the TCPD is working to ensure all essential services are maintained, it was necessary for the division to take the actions in keeping with social distancing policies of the Ministry of Health to reduce, or eliminate, the spread of the covid19.
