SCHOOL registration for migrant children has begun in Tobago.

The THA Division of Education, Research and Technology said registration takes place every Tuesday and Thursday, and told parents to go to the School Supervision Unit of the Division of Education at the Dutch Fort Plaza to register.

The documents required are the minister’s permit under the Migrant Registration Framework, migrant registration card, a certified translation of the child's birth certificate, his or her immunisation record, proof of address and a passport-size photo of the child.

The process also includes applying for a student permit exemption from the Ministry of National Security.

Parents were also told the application does not guarantee placement, which depends on the availability of space at schools.
