Samir Bodoo, Kaiden Pollard shine as East, North win big in U-15 cricket
EAST and North pulled off comfortable wins when round two matches in the TT Cricket Board Under-15 Interzone 50-over tournament continued on February 5.
At the Shaw Park Recreation Ground in Tobago, East dismissed Tobago for just 36 in 23.3 overs. Samir Bodoo was the chief destroyer with remarkable figures of six wickets for four runs. Sanjiv Bachu was also among the wickets with 3/10. Nickel Dixon was the only batsman to get into double figures with 13 off 33 balls.
In response, East raced to 37/1 in 4.3 overs to complete a nine-wicket victory. Justin Pamphille struck 18 not out.
At the Brian Lara Recreation Grounds in Santa Cruz, North defeated North East by seven wickets.
Kaiden Pollard, son of former West Indies captain Kieron Pollard, had a solid match for North. He took 2/20 to help limit North East to 138 all out in 49.1 overs.
B Ramdoo (3/27) and L Guiseppi (2/24) also grabbed wickets.
D Chaitram and M Richards were the top scorers for North East with 32 and 28 respectively.
Pollard struck 51 not out to steer North to 139/3 in 31.3 overs and E Ashton chipped in with 22.
Central and South East also won their matches.
