Marabella man killed after walking into path of gas truck

Marabella police are investigating an accident on August 17 that left a pedestrian dead after he walked into the path of a fuel truck.

The police identified the deceased as Kent Mitchell, 69, also called Yankee.

The police said around 9 am, a gas truck was heading along Union Road, Marabella.

The driver stopped to allow a car to go into Amarsingh Street.

As the truck was driving off, Mitchell walked from the left side and into the front of the truck and was struck.

Mitchell, who police said does not have a fixed address, died on the spot.

The incident was captured on CCTV.

The police interviewed the driver and other witnesses.

Investigations are ongoing.
