Josh Mohammed into Sagicor Jr Tennis finals

Trinidad and Tobago’s Josh Mohammed and Guyanese Rafeeq Prince advanced to the final of the junior boys’ division two singles when the Sagicor Junior Tennis Tournament continued at the National Racquet Centre in Tacarigua on July 9.

In both semi-finals, Mohammed defeated countryman Harrison Hadeed 4-0, 5-3 while Prince also beat fellow Guyanese Dequan Boston 4-1, 5-4.

Additionally, Christian Duncan and Christian Primus will face off in the boys’ 10 and under division two singles final.

Duncan bettered Kabir Garg 5-3, 4-1 and Primus executed flawlessly with a 4-0, 4-0 sweep against Aryan Garg.

In the boys’ U16 singles, the top two seeds Jovan Garibana and Nirav Dougdeen progressed to the semi-final round. Joining them were Josiah Hills and Guyanese Navindra Arjune.

Garibana showed intent with a cool 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Connor Carrington and Dougdeen beat Jacob Jacelon 6-3, 6-2. Hills breezed past American Kaeri Mukora 6-0, 6-1 and Arjune fought hard to win 4-6, 7-5, 11-9 against Jaysean Wells.
