A total of 44 horses have been entered for day ten of the 2023 racing season to be contested at Santa Rosa Park, Arima on Independence Day.

The feature event on the six-race holiday card will be the Independence Cup, open to all horses three year old and over over a distance of 1,800 metres on the turf. A small but very quality field of six runners will face starter Wayne Campbell at approximately 4.15pm.

Eleven three year olds likely to contest the Trinidad Derby in September will all have there final prep races.

These horses will be Little Lady and Harts Gap in the day's opener.

They will be followed by Miss Sunak and Afridi in the second contest. The pair of Blinding Lights and Princess Royal will be on the track in race three. Ending off the holiday will be another pair of O'Bien runners in the finale that will see Hello World and Magnifico.

Post time for the card is slated for 1.30pm.
