Covid19 shuts down UTT Tamana campus for the week

CONFIRMATION of a second covid19 case at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) Tamana campus has shut down the facility for this coming week.
The EBI facility was initially closed last Thursday for sanitising after a case was identified there. EBI staff were asked to stay away for 24 hours and the facility was scheduled to reopen on Friday April 9.
In a release on Sunday, the UTT said out of an abundance of caution and for the welfare of all employees and stakeholders, the entire facility will be closed for the week of April 12 to April 16.
During this period the entire facility will be thoroughly sanitised in keeping with the Ministry of Health guidelines.
Employees based at UTT Tamana have been told they will be required to work from home, under work instructions of their immediate supervisor.
Staff have been advised to self-monitor for any signs of covid19 and if there are any suspicion of development of the symptoms of the virus to immediately contact the MOH for further guidance.
