Rapper among three on sex charges

THREE men, including a rapper, were expected to appear before a magistrate on Monday, each charged separately with a sexual offence against different female minors.

Police held the men, aged 22, 33 and 35, in three separate exercises over the weekend involving officers from the Child Protection Unit (CPU) and the Special Operations Response Team (SORT), a release from police said.

Police said the 33-year-old rap artiste was found in a bedroom having sex with a 15-year-old girl and a report was made. Acting Cpl Rohan of the Southern Division CPU, led investigations and police arrested him on Sunday.

On Friday, police arrested the 22-year-old man who lives in Debe, after a 17-year-old girl reported that he sexually assaulted her at her home. WPC Alexander of the Southern Division CPU, led investigations into this matter.

In the final case, police arrested a 35-year-old farmer in Barrackpore, after a 13-year-old girl reported being sexually assaulted by him while walking along Clement Street in Barrackpore.

Acting Cpl Fairley of the Southern Division CPU led investigations and arrested the man on Saturday. He was expected to appear before a Princes Town magistrate. Acting Supt Natasha George, acting ASP Sookdeo and Insp Francis of the CPU spearheaded the exercises which led to the arrests.
