Police detained 14 non-nationals in the Western Division, during a police exercise on Wednesday morning.

According to a TTPS release, between 3 am and 7 am on Wednesday, police conducted searches as Smith Hill and Thompson Circular in Carenage, and Harding Place, Cocorite.

During the exercise the 14 people were arrested and taken to the West End Police Station. The Ministry of National Security is currently assisting in the screening of the detainees. The release did not identify the nationalities of the suspects nor whether any of them had permission to be in this country.

Officers of the Central Intelligence Bureau, Guard and Emergency Branch, Canine Unit, Transport and Telecom unit and the Western Division Gang Unit were involved in the exercise.
