Siparia woman, 60, charged for wounding

A 60-YEAR-OLD WOMAN is expected to appear before a Siparia magistrate after being charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She has been identified as Avlon Regis John, from Siparia.

Police said at about 4.30 pm on Monday they responded to a report and went to a house at Sennon Village, Siparia.

They found another woman lying semi-conscious on the bathroom floor, with a wound to her left hand.

Two knives were found nearby.

The injured woman was taken to the Siparia Health Facility where she was treated and transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital.

Regis John was detained and taken to the Siparia Police Station, where she was later charged with the offence.
