A 39-year-old man who jumped through a window and attempted to run away from police is expected to face a Princes Town magistrate on Monday charged with having a gun and ammunition.
Barrackpore police went to the suspect’s home at St Croix Road in Lengua Village on Friday at around 6 am after a spate of robberies in the district. A police report said the man, on seeing the officers, jumped through the window and ran off. The officers chased him and arrested him a short distance away.
The officers searched him and found a .38 revolver and six rounds of .38 ammunition which they seized.
He remained in custody over the weekend.
PC Khan is leading investigations.
