South Councillors and Alderman Impressed by 'Educational Fun Day'On Thursday April 25 Councillor for Marabella West La Verne Smith held an 'Educational Fun Day' for pre-schoolers of the Marabella area at New City Avenue, Marabella.
The 'fun day' attended by approximately ninety children between the ages of 2 - 4 years, was such a success that it impressed South Alderman Maxene Thomas and Councillors for Marabella South/Vistabella and Les Effort West/La Romain Philip Montano and Anderson Williams respectively.The councillors and alderman who were in attendance to present tokens of appreciation to the various organisations which participated in the event, were delighted by how well attended and received the event was by the children of the area.

Councillor Williams was so impressed that he was heard making inquires as to how the initiative could be launched in his area as it was a good learning experience for all youngsters.
The pre-schoolers were treated to stories read to them by Library Assistants of the Mobile Library, a petting zoo hosted by the El Socorro Centre for Wild Life Conservation, A tour of the Forestry division eco bus where they learnt about habitats of wildlife animals specific to Trinidad and Tobago, an educational slideshow about personal hygiene from Public Health Inspectors of the Ministry of Health and rides on horses from the Police Mounted Branch.
The event started at 10am and ended at 12:30pm where the children were treated to snacks and lunch.
