Gary a year too long

THE EDITOR: The Commissioner of Police Mr Gary Griffith said to give him a year and we would see change in the crime situation in TT. While I do take into consideration that he has only now taken up the mantle as CoP, a year is a long time before we see at least some impact on the crime situation in TT. Let us face it, this is the number one issue that is plaguing our country and it is affecting everyone, businesses, homes and families across the nation.

There must be some short-term goals and things that can be done in order to alleviate the crime horror in some small way. As a citizen I do not expect crime to just disappear but the citizens need to see some positive moves in the earliest time, restoring broken trust and confidence in the system. I do not believe that is asking for too much.
