Sliding down failure slope
THE EDITOR: The first time I voted was in the era of Rudranath Capildeo and Eric Williams and between then and now our country has continued to slide down the slippery slope of failure.
At one time money was a problem, but that did not last with the advent of OPEC and more money than sense, and at this juncture we have failed in almost everything.
Our institutions have failed us. The police force is a mirage of what it was, the judiciary is jokey, unless you have money the politicians have failed us, corruption has overwhelmed the country, crime and murder are rampant, the public service needs revamping, companies like Petrotrin have been left to collapse, and the worst part of it all is that there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
It really is depressing, as we go from one failure to another doing the same things and expecting a different answer.
Someone needs to bell the cat.
