New ferry prepares to sail

FINAL preparations were in full swing today for the new fast ferry Galleons Passage to sail from China to TT.

Finance Minister Colm Imbert today said an experienced crew is being mobilised in Guandong, China to sail the vessel to Port of Spain.

The US$17.4 million catamaran is expected to leave China for TT today and to arrive in TT in April.

The departure of the Galleons Passage comes as rough sea conditions cancelled sailings of the fast ferry TT Express.
