Pulido, Mohammed claim double gold at Cycling Champs

ZION PULIDO and Jarel Mohammed won two gold medals each on day two of the Trinidad and Tobago Cycling Federation (TTCF) National Track Championships at the National Cycling Velodrome in Couva, on Friday.

Pulido of Rigtech Sonics claimed the keirin Under-23 men’s title, D’Angelo Harris of Sonics took silver and Ryan D’Abreau of Arima Wheelers earned bronze.

Pulido also won gold in the Under-23 men’s scratch race, Maurice Burnette of Team Drive Phase Sport snatched silver and Tariq Woods of Evolution Cycling Academy grabbed bronze.

Mohammed was also in commanding form on the night winning both the keirin junior men’s title and the junior men’s scratch race.

In the keirin junior men’s race, Mohammed was too fast for Raul Garcia of Madonna Wheelers and Devante Laurence of Arima Wheelers who were second and third respectively.

In the scratch event, Mohammed finished ahead of Garcia to claim another gold medal.

Domonic Maraj of PSL took third spot.

In the elite men’s scratch race, Akil Campbell of PSL snatched the crown with Adam Alexander (Raiders Cycling and Multisport Club) settling for second place.

Sylese Christian and Kwesi Browne continued their dominance at the championships.

Christian and Browne won the keirin women’s and men’s titles respectively.

On Thursday, Christian and Browne won the elite sprint events.
