Monkey captured at city hospital
THERE was no snake on the loose at the Port of Spain General Hospital but a monkey, according to North West Regional Health Authority.
In a media release on Saturday, the organisation said staff found a monkey in one of the departments around 7 am on Friday. The Emperor Valley Zoo was contacted and an official came and captured the animal.
The area was subsequently sanitised and deemed fit for resumption of operations.
The release said steps have been taken to prevent a recurrence of the incident and the authority remains committed to providing a safe and secure environment to both internal and external clients.
