No water in Central tomorrow

WASA customers in parts of central Trinidad are being warned of a disruption in their water supply tomorrow between 8 am and 4 pm.

In a media statement yesterday, the authority stated the disruption has become necessary to facilitate emergency repairs to a 400 millimetre diameter raw water main along the Freeport Todds Road in the vicinity of Bridge B1/1. The affected areas include: Central Park, Balmain, Gran Couva, Mayo, Tortuga, Siewdass Road, Freeport, Chickland, Preysal and environs inclusive of Mission Road, Sesame Street, Melony Gardens, Santa Clara Road, Lower Couva Road, Nasir Trace, Powdharie Road and Sealey Trace.

The authority stated that the water supply may take up to 12 hours for the service to normalise to some affected areas in accordance with pipe-borne water supply schedules in force because of low reserves due to the dry season.

Drivers are asked to proceed with caution near the job site. For further information or assistance, customers can contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426.
