Murder in Carapo

A 21-year-old Carapo man is dead after being shot while liming with friends near his home on Tuesday night.

The man has been identified as Keidan Phillip.

Phillip and his friends were at Simon Street when, at about 11 pm, three gunmen approached the group and opened fire on them. Phillip was shot multiple times.

Police were called and Phillip’s body was removed from the scene. His murder is the second in as many days to have happened in the Northern Division. On Monday night, the body of a man was found in an area in Arima known as the Congo. The man was found with his hands bound and a bullet wound to the head.

The murder toll for the year now stands at 236.
