Woman’s body washes ashore, alongside depressed diary entries
The half-naked body of 21-year-old Maxine Marvlyn Lewis was found by fishermen on the beach in Patience Bay, Toco early yesterday morning. According to reports, the men stumbled across the body shortly before 5 am when returning from sea and called the Toco police.
Lewis was later identified using her ID card, which was found nearby. Investigators did not notice any marks of violence on the body but have not yet ruled out foul play and believe she may have drowned.
According to reports, investigators found a pocket diary near Lewis’s body which contained hundreds of entries in which she expressed deep depression, and authorities speculate her death may have been a suicide.
