A Cocorite man’s car was stolen from the Licensing Office compound in Caroni on Thursday hours after he bought it.

The 23-year-old man arrived at the compound at around 10 am and locked the gold Nissan Almera before heading inside. He came out of the building about four hours later and discovered the car was missing.

The Phase One, Powder Magazine resident told police he had bought the car that morning from a man he met on Facebook.

He said he met the man at the compound of the Eric William Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope and gave him $21,000 for the car.

Police say investigations are ongoing.
