Arima man arrested for illegal gun, ammo
An Arima man was arrested in South Trinidad on July 4 for possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition during an anti-crime exercise.
Police said around 10 pm PC Jugmohan and officers of the Southern Division Task Force intercepted a Silver Nissan Tiida on the Southern Main Road, California, driven by a 28-year-old man from Lane Street, Arima.
While searching the car, police discovered a handgun without a visible serial number, along with a magazine with five rounds of nine-millimetre ammunition.
The man was arrested and taken to the Marabella Police Station.
