Fine Art Market hosts World Art Day exhibition
The Fine Art Market will be hosting a World Art Day exhibition on Saturday at the Anchorage, Chaguaramas. The work of 73 fine artists will be on display and for sale.
Curator and artist Jacqueline Guzman said World Art Day is important for the promotion of art and artists.
“World Art Day to me plays a great role in promoting innovation and creativity. It aims to celebrate and acknowledge cultural diversity of artistic expression and highlight the contribution of artists. It’s celebrated on April 15, the birthday of Leonardo da Vinci.”
The occasion was first celebrated in 2012 after a proposal was put forward at the 17th General Assembly of the International Association of Art in Guadalajara to declare April 15 as World Art Day. This year’s theme is Art is good for the health.
Guzman said some of the artists who will be displaying their work are Paula Cooper, Yvette Paul, Jeffery Patasingh, Anthony Timothy, Daniel Rajkumar, Kavita Ganness, Ryan Williams, Trevor Byron, Percy Parker Williams, Samantha Joseph, Michelle Tappin, Nezima Mohammed, and Hazel Marshall.
