Roughly 17 hours after police shot and killed three bandits after a robbery in Longdenville on January 21, another man was fatally shot by police on Wednesday afternoon, this time in Laventille.

Police said they responded to a report of a chopping incident in Eastern Quarry.

They arrived and saw 22-year-old Shakeem Nickie also known as Fabi, attacking another man.

Police told him to stop but he did not comply. Police shot him once in his upper body.

Nickie was taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital where he died.
