Trinidad and Tobago golfers start well at Caribbean Four-Ball Champs

Trinidad and Tobago’s Victoria Seenath and Tori Defreitas-Baptiste lead the three-team ladies’ 25 and over standings after day one of the Caribbean Golf Association Four-Ball Championships, which teed off at Magdalena Grand Beach and Golf Resort, Lowlands, Tobago on October 18.

After 18 holes, the pair had a gross score of 80 to close off the opening session of the three-day tournament.

Currently in second are Jamaica’s Lisa Gardner and Jodi Munn Barrow with a gross 86 while Barbados’ Carole Eleuthere-Jn Marie and Kim Campbell are in third on 95.

TT’s Ingrid Seeberan and Violet Roopchand also lead the ladies 45 and over standings with a gross 85. Jamaica’s Maggie Lyn and Michele McCreath (85) are in a close second with Bajans Zerina Belgrave and Julia Stephenson (89) third.

In the men’s mid-amateur, Bermuda are in control as Eric West and Jonathan James (72) lead the seven-team standings. TT’s Clint Alfred and Desrond Ambrose are second (72) while Puerto Rico’s Omar Hernandez and Javier Lorenzi (75) trail in third.

Jamaica’s total gross of 71 leads the senior men with Bermuda (71) and Cayman Islands (72) rounding off the top three respectively. TT are sixth (78).

TT, however, control the super senior men heading into day two with Richard Camacho and Angad Sonnilal (68) atop. Jamaica A (69) are second while another TT pair, John Holley and Hollis George (72), are third.

And in the men’s 70 and over, Jamaica A (72) control proceedings with TT's Maurice Mathura and Prananand Rajendranath (74) second and Bahamas (74) third.
