Trinidad and Tobago's Devin Augustine ousted in men's 100m heats

Sprinter Devin Augustine did not advance to the semi-finals of the men’s 100m after placing fifth in heat two of eight at the Stade de France in Paris on August 3.

Running out of lane six, Augustine crossed the finish line in 10.31 seconds. This was his only event at the Games.

Kenyan Ferdinand Omanyala (10.08s), Italian Chituru Ali (10.12s) and German Joshua Hartman (10.16s) all advanced as the top three finishers. Additionally, five sprinters dipped below the ten-second mark during the heats.

At 1.50pm (TT time), Olympic debutant and sprinter Leah Bertrand contests the women’s 100m semi-finals running out of lane one in heat three.

Bertrand qualified for the semis after placing third in 11.27s in heat three of round one.
