Marabella welder, 31, killed, man wounded in shooting

ONE man died and another was wounded in a shooting in Marabella on the night of August 1.

Welder Daniel Taylor, 31, of Jack Street, Battoo Avenue, was shot near his home.

Another resident, Elijah Halls, 18, was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital, where he remained up to August 2.

Residents heard gunshots around 9.20 pm and called the Marabella police. Insp Maharaj, W/Sgt Langley, WPC Warner and other police from the Southern Division responded.

The officers found Taylor lying in the road. He would have turned 32 on September 26.

Halls was also on the ground with multiple wounds and he was taken to the hospital.

Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three, also visited and gathered evidence.

No one has been arrested and investigations are ongoing.
