Caribbean Airlines (CAL) seeks to enhance connectivity within the Caribbean as its inaugural flight to San Juan, Puerto Rico left Piarco International Airport on July 14, a release said on July 16.

CEO of CAL Garvin Medera said CAL is excited to begin its new strategic plan.

"This new route is a significant step in our growth strategy and underscores our commitment to enhancing regional connectivity.

"CAL plays a vital role in connecting the Caribbean, and by the end of this year, we will link the Spanish-, French-, Dutch- and English-speaking Caribbean with each other."

Medera said the North American business and leisure travellers will also be connected, as CAL wanted everyone to "explore our beautiful region."

CAL will have flights to San Juan three times a week – Sunday, Tuesday and Friday – from Trinidad, with convenient connections to other destinations.
