First Citizens continues to sponsor Ms Tobago Heritage Personality
First Citizens is sponsoring the Ms Tobago Heritage Personality competition for the 37th consecutive year.
The event celebrates the rich cultural heritage and talent of Tobagonians and reaffirms First Citizens commitment to supporting initiatives that promote cultural diversity, empowerment, and community development, the bank said in a media release.
Seven contestants will compete in the event on July 11 at Shaw Park from 7 pm. They will be judged on the talent, evening wear, and cultural expression categories.
First Citizens opened activities on July 1 with a financial literacy workshop and community outreach initiative at the Peace of Mind Elderly Home, Signal Hill, where the delegates spent the afternoon with the residents bringing joy and laughter to everyone, the release said.
Reflecting on the group’s commitment to empowering the community through cultural preservation, First Citizens head – brand and marketing Gillian Benjamin said in the release, "First Citizens is honoured to be a part of such a prestigious event that celebrates the unique heritage and identity of Tobago. We believe in the importance of preserving and promoting cultural diversity, and the Ms Tobago Heritage Personality Show provides a platform for Tobagonian women to showcase their talents and contributions to our society."
Janelle Drysdale-Job, acting CEO, Tobago Festivals Commission Ltd expressed delight over the continued sponsorship.
"The Ms Tobago Heritage Personality competition is a vital platform that celebrates the rich cultural tapestry of Tobago, promoting the island's traditions, history, and artistic expressions," she said in the release. "It allows young women to showcase their talents, intelligence and cultural knowledge, ultimately contributing to the preservation and appreciation of our unique heritage."
