Daddy Chinee wins Chutneymusic.com Raja title

Ricardo Melville better known as Daddy Chinee won the 2023 Chutneymusic.com Raja title with his hit song We are One.

This made it the third straight year Daddy Chinee has won the title and this completed a hat-trick of Chutneymusic.com Raja titles, a media release said.

Competition organiser Jason “DJ Floops” Sookram referred to the We are One song "as the embodiment of chutney soca.”

The song is original, speaks about unity and contains Hindustani references throughout. The rhythm is easily identifiable as chutney as it was produced by chutney purist Rishi Gayadeen of RG Band as part of the Chutney Soca Invasion 2.0, the release said.

Camille Ranjitsingh better known as Ranji Baby maybe looking for a Dulaha (Dulha) but she found herself winning the Chutneymusic.com Rani (Queen) 2023 title. This is a repeat for her as she won the title in 2022. Ranji also celebrates the release of her first-ever album Chutney Chamkay, the release said.

Reigning Chutneymusic.com Rajkumar competition winner Aditya Seepersad will face a serious challenge from newcomer Jonathan Ramnarine as they battle it out in CRC 2023 Rajkumar finals.

The release said the contenders will have to submit a full pre-recorded live performance on or before February 15. If they fail to produce a video by the stipulated time, the entrant will be disqualified.
