Woman, believed to be Venezuelan, killed in accident

AN early morning accident on Monday has claimed the life of a woman believed to be a Venezuelan.

Police said the woman was attempting to cross the Solomon Hochoy Highway in Freeport when a car knocked her down. Police found her body on the northbound lane of the highway at around 6 am.

Investigators have not yet identified her and could not provide additional information. The fatality caused traffic to back up as far as Gasparillo for hours. Highway Patrol and Freeport police, as well as other officers from the Central Division, visited the scene.
