Pure hate and act normal.

That is how some people in society behave, said pastor Mervyn Rodriguez as he urged people to love one another.

“Love is unconditional. Do not let pettiness rob you of a moment to share lovely moments with the people you love. Human beings are tearing each other apart, and cats and dogs have found a way to co-exist, Rodriguez said.

“Why are we hurting one another? Some people have pure hate, and act normal.”

He officiated at the funeral of Krystal Primus-Espinoza, 36, at the Dunamis Apostolic Evangelical Assembly at Guayaguayare Road in Rio Claro on Friday.

Relatives and friends grieve over Krystal Primus-Espinoza's coffin at her funeral on Friday at the Dunamis Apostolic Evangelical Assembly in Rio Claro. -

She was last seen alive at home at St Ann's Village in Mayaro, the day before she left in her husband's Toyota Hilux van.

Police found the van abandoned onshore after it apparently crashed over a cliff, a short distance from where her body was found.

An autopsy at the Forensic Science Centre in St James on Wednesday revealed Primus-Espinoza died from asphyxiation due to drowning.

The pastor likened the mother of two to a beautiful flower saying at every transitional point in her life, she blossomed.

“She is not blooming anymore in the flesh. Krystal has left her footprints in the sands of time. How many of us would say we will walk where she walked? As much as it's a sad day, it's a glorious day. She has gone to the maker. She is with the Lord,” Rodriguez told the congregation.

To the family, he referred to scriptures from the Bible and encouraged them to do like Job did when he lost all his earthly possessions.

“Maintain your integrity. Represent what Kyrstal stood for. Her legacy does not have to finish here. You can finish it. You can be an extension of Krystal.

“To the congregation, don't wait for perfect moments to do good things. Even in covid, you can have quality time with loved ones.

Via video footage at the funeral, representatives of Biche Secondary School as well as many people took turns to share fond memories of her.

Weeping relatives consoled each other as they took turns to look after Primus-Espinoza’s eight-year-old son and three-year-old daughter who sat near the closed-coffin with their bereaved father.

Primus-Espinoza’s sister Chantell Primus read the eulogy.

“She had so many good times. She was the mother of two beautiful children. My sister was very outgoing and energetic. We will miss the long phone calls, the beach runs. We love you dearly.”

The body was taken to the Radix cemetery for burial.
