THA elections on January 25

THE Tobago House of Assembly (THA) elections will be held on January 25, 2021.

President Paula-Mae Weekes announced the date on Tuesday after consultation with the Prime Minister and Chief Secretary Ancil Dennis.

Nomination Day will be January 4.

Dennis dissolved the THA on November 17 by Dennis, paving the way for elections to be held within three months.

The ruling PNM controlled ten of the 12 electoral districts in the last THA, while the Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP) held two.

Both parties have each already named 12 candidates to contest the seats.
