THE EDITOR: Why is the Queen’s Park Savannah so neglected? The grass needs cutting. The drains are overgrown with weeds. In some areas there are young trees sprouting from the drains. On the eastern side, a part of the fence has been knocked down and there it lies, a twisted mess.

Recently, a very feeble attempt was made to cut the grass. No attention was paid to the abundance of weeds in the drains. How can our ministers of government who drive around the Savannah at turn a blind eye to these eyesores?

We boast that our Savannah is the biggest roundabout in the world, yet when it comes to maintenance of this beautiful green space, we fail miserably. Why?

We can and must do better. Is it not worth the effort?
