Suspect, 17, held for San Fernando chokehold robbery

A 17-year-old Tarodale boy who put a woman in a chokehold on Wednesday afternoon, then stole her purse, cash and other personal items, is in custody.

Officers from the Emergency Response Patrol (ERP) arrested the suspect shortly after the crime, and recovered some of the items.

A report said at about 4 pm, the woman was at her apartment off Circular Road in San Fernando. The boy walked in and grabbed her by her neck. He ran off after robbing her of cell phones and a purse with cash and other valuables.

ERP officers were called and arrested him in the area.
