National Security receives $1.217 billion less

The Ministry of National Security which has received gradually smaller allocations over the past five years has been given $5.227 billion in the 2020-2021 Budget – $1.217 billion less than last year.
During his Budget presentation in the Red House on Monday, Minister of Finance Colm Imbert announced the allocation for the ministry making it the lowest in the last five years.
National security is the third major fiscal allocation for the budget behind education and training which received $7.973 billion and health with $6.050 billion.
For the 2019-2020 Budget, National Security received $6.44 billion.
For the 2018- 2019 Budget National Security received $6.120 billion
For the 2017- 2018 Budget National Security received $6.4 billion
For the 2016- 2017 Budget National Security received $7.625 billion
For the 2015- 2016 Budget National Security received $10.8 billion
