Wallace to proceed with fight for TTFA accounts

EMBATTLED president of the TT Football Association (TTFA) William Wallace and his executive is proceeding with his fight to gain full access to the TTFA’s accounts at First Citizens.
Last week, Wallace’s legal team of Matthew Gayle and Dr Emir Crowne gave First Citizens until April 30 to restore their unfettered access to the FA's accounts, as well as for the bank to “extricate itself from this most improper role” of appointing itself as “an informal arbiter” between them and the FIFA-appointed normalisation committee, headed by businessman Robert Hadad.
In a letter to First Citizens’ attorney Kendell Alexander on Tuesday, Gayle wrote, “Your attempt to make the distinction between not having made a determination on the one hand and on the other ‘out of an abundance of caution’ effectively (seizes) and/or unlawfully (prevents) my client from accessing its accounts.
“Your client’s position is therefore per se not neutral and in direct contravention to the duty of prudence and fidelity owed to my client,” Gayle’s letter continued.
“My client will proceed as it deems fit, and if appropriate will seek appropriate redress against your client, given your client’s total failure to cooperate in this matter. No further notice or warning of legal action shall be issued.”
Wallace and his executive (deputies Clynt Taylor, Susan Joseph-Warrick and Joseph Sam Phillip) were removed by FIFA on March 17 and a normalisation committee was set up by the game’s global governing body due to mounting debts amassed by the TTFA.
