Man held with $850,000 in 'high-grade' ganja

South Western Division police arrested a Marabella man last night with an estimated $850,000 worth of marijuana in the Kia SUV he was driving.

The man, who lives at New Haven Avenue, is expected to appear before a Siparia magistrate.

Police intercepted the SUV on the SS Erin Road in Siparia in an exercise supervised by Insps Nemai and Ramdeen and Cpl Ramlal. Police found 150 blocks, weighing a total of 85 kilograms, of the illegal drug, described as "high-grade."

Police from the Siparia CID, Erin and Santa Flora CID also assisted.
