Carapo men charged for murder

TWO Carapo men were charged on Good Friday for the murder of Kiedon Williams after investigators received recommendations from acting Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Joan Honore-Paul.

A release from the TT Police Service stated that Ako Degale, 38, and Paul Gosine, 19, of Race Course Road and Pine Wood Drive, Carapo respectively were also charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition, shooting with intent against two police officers and wounding with intent against three other men.

They appeared before a Port of Spain Magistrate yesterday. Williams was murdered in April when he and three other men were at Maracas Bay. They were approached by two gunmen who opened fire. Police on patrol in the area heard the gunfire and went to the scene. They too were shot at, before the gunmen ran away.

Williams died at the scene, while the other three men were taken to hospital for treatment. Investigations were supervised by acting ASP Sean Dhilpaul of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region 2, while the accused were charged by PC Anderson Marash of HBI Region 2.
