Kidnapped man rescued at Carenage apartment

A 38-year-old Chaguanas man who was kidnapped on Saturday has been rescued by a joint team of officers from the Special Operations Response Team and the Anti Kidnapping Unit.

The rescue happened at a Carenage apartment shortly before midday.

Josh Quashie appeared to be traumatised after the rescue and has been taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Kidnappers had demanded a $100,000 ransom.

Quashie’s black Hyundai car was found abandoned in Valencia on Saturday after he was taken and Police Commissioner Gary Griffith activated all elite units to find him.
