Police seize Glock pistol after shootout

MEMBERS of the Port of Spain Division were met with gunfire when they tried to question two men on Wednesday while on patrol.

Police said that at around 2.05 am, Cpl Huggins and PC Williams were on Quarry Street, East Dry River, Port of Spain when they saw two men run onto Observatory Street when they saw the police car.

The police ran after them, and when they called on the men to stop, the men shot at them.

The police returned fire and one of the suspects dropped a gun. The two continued running and escaped.

Officers seized the weapon, a Glock 19 pistol. No one was injured.
