TT top field at Barbados Tri-Nation Women’s Hockey

TT topped the field in the Barbados Tri-Nation Women’s Hockey series, which took place last week at Wildey, Barbados.

At the end of four matches, TT finished with seven points, followed by Guyana with five and Barbados with three.

Things did not begin well for the TT outfit as they were beaten in their first match, 1-0, to Guyana on Thursday.

However, on Saturday, TT rebounded with a pair of victories. Firstly, they edged hosts Barbados 1-0 with a strike from Brianna Govia in the 40th minute. And they followed up with a 3-1 win over Guyana, with items from Govia (fourth), Felicia King (25th) and Brittney Hingh (27th). Princessa Wilkie (49th) pulled one back for Guyana.

In TT’s last match, on Sunday, they were held to a goalless draw by Barbados.
