Hidden agendas
THE EDITOR: The hypocrisy of certain people who profess to love this country knows no bounds. That includes some who aspire to its leadership.
Why else would people who now speak of compassion for Venezuelans have stood by silently when Nigerian applicants for residential status in Trinidad were denied and held, cruelly, in detention for extended periods. And, by the way, weren’t some of these people among those who opposed our Government’s invitation to Dominicans after the disastrous hurricane?
What about their reaction to Haitians?
There seems to be more in the mortar than the pestle.
Do you smell a rat?
What passes for political discourse in this country is more and more presenting itself as obstructionism?
Could it be that people who present themselves as patriots are not at all interested in anything more than naked power? Is it that they presume some citizens to be more entitled to be in leadership positions?
What is this based on?
Are these people patriots or saboteurs?
I hope that right-thinking citizens are paying attention. Watch out for saboteurs. If you see something, say something.
