Police gets US sniffer dogs
The Police Service Mounted and Canine Branch has received five canines from the US Embassy trained in tracking drugs, guns and explosives.
In a release from the embassy it was reported the canines are part of their continuing support for the security of the citizens under the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative.
Chargé d’Affaires John W McIntyre and head of the Mounted and Canine Branch Snr Supt Patsy Joseph marked the arrival of the new canines in Arima, and signed a document acknowledging the handover.
The canines, together with their handlers, are trained in narcotics, firearms and explosives detection.
