Police are investigating two separate incidents in which delivery workers were held up and robbed of cash and other valuables last Friday.

In one incident, police said at around 1.30 pm Deon Tyson, 23, was sitting in a Holiday Snacks company vehicle outside a restaurant along the Eastern Main Road in Tacarigua, waiting for a co-worker, when he was robbed.

Police said a man of African descent, six feet tall with a medium build and wearing a cap on his head and a mask over his face, pointed a gun at Tyson and robbed him of $6,100, which represented the day’s sales. The man then ran off.

In the second incident, Andrew Telesford, 34, was at Victoria Street in Arouca selling from a Ramco cooking-gas delivery van around 11 am when a gunman robbed him.

The suspect, who police said was wearing a black jersey and three-quarter pants, took $500 and $1,708 in cash from sales. He also robbed Telesford of a company-issued Samsung M7 cellphone, plus his personal Nokia cell, phone before running off.

No arrests have been made.
