Painless experience for vaccine
THE EDITOR: Having noted the negative media comments on the ministry’s vaccination programme, I hasten to give my own experience which was exemplary.
I visited the St Joseph Health Centre at Mount Hope mid-morning before Easter to register for my jab. That detained me about 20-30 minutes. About 12 other people were waiting.
About three or four hours later, someone from the health centre called to advise of my appointment date and time – the Tuesday after Easter at 9.45 am. I was able to have my wife included for the same appointment date and time to accompany me.
As appointed, I duly appeared at 9.45 am and waited about 15 minutes. The painless procedure took about ten minutes and I was instructed to wait for another 15 minutes when an attendant gave me the Immunisation Card with the date and time for the second shot – June 29, 10 am – and the all-clear to leave.
I remarked to others how efficient I found it. It was all of 45 minutes. Names of the attendants as I recall were Ferguson, Trimingham and Helen, who administered the jab.
