Devices for Febeau, Five Rivers schools

Telecoms and entertainment provider Flow Trinidad, in association with pennacool.com, donated devices through the Ministry of Education's Adopt-a-School Programme for the two winning schools of its Inter-School Championship for January and February.

At the presentation ceremony Minister of Education Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly welcomed the partnership and support of corporate entities in helping the nation's youth.

"It is a pleasure to have physical representation of [Flow’s] continued involvement in education and in pushing the boundaries of education," Gadsby-Dolly said in a media release. The presentation took place at the ministry's Port of Spain head office on March 18.

Flow country manager Kurleigh Prescod said in the release, "Our partnership with pennacool.com, which began in 2009, and what we see as an ICT in education project, provides an opportunity for primary school students to develop learning skills and establish a platform for research that are useful tools in secondary school."

As part of the programme, devices are awarded to schools whose students garnered the most number of points each month through the use of pennacool.com.

Principal of Febeau Government Primary School Daryl Joseph and principal at Five Rivers TIA Primary School Saleeka Mohammed-Ali received five devices each for their schools, having won January and February respectively.

Flow Trinidad said it has already donated hundreds of devices to schools through its collaboration with pennacool.com.
