Police, civilians injured in crash

A police chase in Barrackpore on Sunday ended with a crash at Rochard Road.

Four municipal police and two civilians got injured and were taken for medical care at the hospital. But the suspected criminals had not been held up to Sunday afternoon.

Reports are the crash happened shortly after 9 am and the police are from the Penal station

The police attempted to intercept a car with suspected criminals. Instead, the driver sped off, and the officers gave chase.

The police driver lost control, and the marked van crashed head-on with a Nissan Sentra.

On impact, the van flipped and further crashed into a utility pole.

The police and two occupants in the Sentra were taken to the hospital.
